Hire Controller

A rare opportunity has arisen for a Hire Controller to join our friendly and knowledgeable team at Anglian Plant, based at our depot in Rackheath, NR13. We are a regional independent business with a real family feel, and we pride ourselves on offering an exceptional service and quality equipment.

The Role

The Hire Desk is a fast-paced and varied role that sits at the heart of our operations. Working on the front line of sales and customer service, you will be responsible for catering to our clients’ needs whilst liaising with internal departments to ensure 100% customer satisfaction. This will involve taking orders, advising on suitable equipment, managing on and off hires, and scheduling transport.

Responsibilities

  • Liaising with customers and suppliers via phone, email and face to face
  • Accurately inputting quotes, hires and off hires into our CRM system
  • Liaising with the service department to fulfil hires and maximise fleet utilisation
  • Scheduling transport and communicating with drivers regarding deliveries and collections
  • Understanding our fleet inventory and identifying revenue opportunities
  • Maintaining the highest standards of customer service at all times

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced customer service or hire desk environment
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail whilst working under pressure
  • Confident communicator — comfortable on the phone, over email and face to face
  • Positive, can-do attitude with a willingness to learn
  • IT literate (Word, Excel) — full training provided on our in-house CRM
  • Experience within the plant hire or construction sector is advantageous but not essential

Role Details

  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Monday–Friday 08:00 –17:30 | Alternate Saturdays 08:00 –12:00
  • Immediate start available
  • Three-month probationary period
  • 20 days holiday + Bank Holidays
  • Company pension
  • Uniform provided
  • £37,000 – £40,000 PA
